SBS’s Inkigayo is back once again, but this week, they’ve recorded a special episode on Jeju Island with fun and amazing performances from the top K-pop artists!
Super Concert Wonderful Jeju was part of the Visit Korea Committee’s “Visit Korea Year 2010-2012” promotional activities and was held at the Hanra Gymnasium. More than 300 audience members from not only Korea, but Japan, China, and other Asian countries attended plus foreign reporters.
The marketing director of the Visit Korea Committee stated, “By using the international power of and influence of K-Pop, we have decided to open this event to encourage and promote tourism in Jeju Island. In the future, we will be coming up with a variety of different events and ideas through the use of Hallyu so that we can appeal to an international audience.”
The concert is also in support of Jeju Island’s bid to be designated as one of the seven new natural wonders of the world. The campaign is currently in its third and final phase in which the wonders will be chosen by an estimated 1 billion voters worldwide among 28 official finalists. The final winners of the ‘New 7 Wonders of Nature’ will be announced on November 11th, 2011.
B2ST and 4minute did the ‘Greeting Song‘ video to promote Jeju Island.
The ‘Take 7‘ nominees were K.Will (“My Heart is Beating“), Big Bang (“Love Song“), Rainbow (“To Me“), Girl’s Day (“Twinkle Twinkle“), CNBLUE (“Intuition“), 4minute (“Mirror Mirror“), and Orange Caramel (“Bangkok City“). Unfortunately, Girl’s Day did not perform today.
The show ended without a winner announced for this week.
